SWAU and Hill College Launch Transfer Program

KEENE, TEX. – Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU) and Hill College launched a transfer partnership called “SWAU in Two,” designed to provide a clear, affordable path to a bachelor’s degree for students in Johnson County and surrounding communities.
The program allows Hill College students who have completed an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or Associate of Arts in Technology degree to complete a bachelor’s degree at SWAU in as little as two years.
The agreement should simplify the transfer process and expand access to higher education. Students will benefit from a streamlined credit-transfer process, continued access to financial aid and academic support as they transition to a four-year institution.
Students in good academic standing with at least a 2.5 GPA qualify for automatic admission. Program participants will receive a 20 percent tuition discount, which may be combined with the transfer student scholarship.
“Our partnership with Hill College reflects Southwestern Adventist University’s commitment to serving Johnson County through high-quality, affordable educational pathways that allow students to stay close to home,” said William Smith, vice president for academic administration. “We are excited about what this means for students, for families and for the future of our region. This collaboration expands access, simplifies the transfer process and creates meaningful opportunities for student success and workforce development.”
“Southwestern Adventist University is proud to partner with Hill College to expand access and create new opportunities for students in Johnson County,” said former president Ana Patterson. “We are grateful to Dr. Mills, president of Hill College, and his team for their collaboration in building a pathway that benefits students, strengthens our institutions and serves our community.”
The “SWAU in Two” program reflects a commitment to increasing educational attainment, supporting workforce readiness and providing a faith-centered academic experience.
