Muskogee Academy Emphasizes Music and Ministry

MUSKOGEE, OKLA. – Kindergarteners through eighth graders receive a Christian education emphasizing music, ministry and community engagement at Muskogee Seventh-day Adventist Christian Academy (MSDACA).
Founded in 2013 with classes held in the local church, the school moved into its current facility in 2018. The campus, located on six acres outside Muskogee, includes classrooms, a gymnasium, a music room and a playground, with plans for additional outdoor development.
The school currently serves nine students across multiple grade levels, a setup that allows for individualized instruction, supporting students’ spiritual, academic and social development.
Music education is a central part of the curriculum. Students participate in events throughout the year, including a Christmas program; graduation; MSDACA Sabbath; and an annual music festival, which recently brought three area schools together at the church. These events are a tremendous blessing to parents, church members and the broader community, as students shine through their musical witness.
The music program is led by the school’s head teacher, who holds a bachelor’s in education and music and has more than 30 years of teaching experience. Instruction includes choir, hand chimes, glockenspiels, ukulele, guitar, piano and music theory.
The school hosts a weekly homeschool day each Friday. Community students attend for a half day of activities, including Bible, art, music, Spanish and physical education.
Students also participate in field trips, science fairs and community outreach. Service activities include collecting food for holiday baskets and hosting community events.
Through field trips, science fairs, music programs and community outreach (such as gathering food for Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets, hosting food fairs and enjoying picnics), students experience hands-on learning and joyful fellowship.
