I have some good news for you. God loves you, and there’s nothing that can stop His love for you! This simple but salient truth should put a smile on your face, recognizing that no matter how bad life gets or what regretful things you may have done in your life, you can rest in knowing that God won’t ever stop loving you.

There’s a major difference between divine love and human love. Human love can be conditional. It may fluctuate based on situations, circumstances, or performance. But God's love is different. His love is unwavering, unconditional, and eternal. It’s not based on who we are, but who He is!

The Bible consistently reminds us that no matter what we’ve done or what we’re facing, God's love remains steadfastly fixed upon us. The Apostle Paul said it clearly, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39, KJV).

Notice the verb Paul uses here: persuaded. This means Paul was convinced and confident beyond a shadow of a doubt that there was absolutely nothing that could separate him from God's love. Death couldn’t do it. Life's trials couldn’t do it. Demons couldn’t do it. The present couldn’t do it. The future couldn’t do it. There was no force that could sever or break the bond of God's love toward His children.

When I was a kid, one of the first verses of Scripture I learned was John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (KJV).

And now, as an adult, the message of this verse never grows old. This text reminds us that not only was God's love merely spoken, but it was also demonstrated. God loved us so much that He gave us His Son, Jesus. God didn’t wait for humanity to become perfect before loving us. He loved us while we were yet sinners. (See Romans 5:8.) He loved us enough to provide a way of redemption, and Jesus willingly sacrificed His life for us. He wasn’t forced. He wasn’t coerced. He chose to die so that we might live.

So whenever doubts arise in your mind on whether God loves you or not, look to Calvary. Whenever guilt whispers in your ear that you’re a sinner and you’re beyond saving, look to Calvary. The gift of Calvary is heaven's eternal declaration that God loves you.

Please be careful, however, not to misunderstand God’s love. Just because God loves us doesn’t mean He approves of our sin. Rather, it means His love is so great that He continually seeks to rescue us from sin. When we fall, His love lifts us. When we wander, His love finds us. When we’re broken, His love restores us. When we’re wounded, His love heals us.

Friends, God loves you. And there’s nothing you can do about it! He loved you in the past. He loves you in the present. And He will continue to love you in the future.
