The Slidell Seventh-day Adventist Church distributed 103 backpacks filled with school supplies on July 19. These backpacks were given to community members who registered through our Facebook page.
Due to high demand, over 40 children—including some within our own congregation—were left without supplies. In response, the church board voted to purchase an additional 60 backpacks to support both the community and our church families. These were given out at a second backpack giveaway event on Aug. 1.
We received numerous messages from families expressing their heartfelt gratitude, with many sharing that the backpacks and school supplies were exactly what they needed.
