With three universities nearby, the Conway Seventh-day Adventist Church is trying a new approach to reach young adults ages 18 to 30: a fellowship group that meets once a month, generally on Sunday evenings.
Members of the church provide dinner, followed by an icebreaker game to help individuals interact with the group. Guest speakers give short motivational talks and share personal testimonies.
At the Oct. 4 meeting, Annette Anderson, M.D., led the discussion. She shared challenges from her life and how she has brought God into her life, providing an encouraging example for the group. Participants expressed appreciation for her time and testimony.
At their latest gathering, the young adults enjoyed an evening of bowling.
The group is growing, although attendance varies with college exams and individual work schedules. Group discussions and guest speakers help build connections among participants.
