Eight individuals were baptized during the Norman Hispanic Mission Group’s first evangelistic reaping service of 2026. Seven of the newly baptized members are the first Seventh-day Adventists in their families. Many came from unchurched backgrounds, and several received their first Bibles and learned about the Gospel through the Norman Hispanic Mission Group.
The two-hour Friday evening service also included a double wedding with two couples who chose to marry as part of their commitment to follow Jesus and their desire to enter into a covenant before God. In addition, there was a child dedication, a mini concert, an evangelistic message, and an appeal. During the appeal, 11 more individuals indicated that they wanted to prepare for baptism and several others accepted Jesus as their Savior or expressed interest in joining the church.
The eight baptisms brought the church plant across the membership threshold needed to be officially recognized as a mission group.
We are grateful for founding members Yoyma, Javier, and Barbara, whose dedication helped establish the group; Pastor Steve Severance and the Norman Seventh-day Adventist Church, which opened its doors and continues to support our group; and Pastor Juan Williams, who has built relationships with and discipled many of those who were baptized.
We invite the Oklahoma Conference family to pray for these new believers, those preparing for baptism, and the Norman Hispanic Mission Group as it continues to share the Gospel in its community.
