What started with bagels, fruit, and fellowship became an evening of encouragement, faith, and spiritual reflection for the women of Albuquerque Central Seventh-day Adventist Church. On Aug. 21, women of all ages gathered in the church fellowship hall for a Bagels and Bibles Vespers hosted by Women’s Ministries.
Several women volunteered their time and culinary talents to prepare a spread of assorted bagels, fruit, and toppings. As they shared a meal and fellowship, the evening created a welcoming space for women to connect with one another and prepare their hearts for the Sabbath.
The evening’s Bible study focused on Joshua 3–5 and the reminder that “the battles in our lives belong to the Lord.” The women were encouraged to bring their personal struggles to God in faith, trusting Him to guide them through life’s challenges and give them victory.
The blessing continued beyond the women who attended. The following morning, the leftovers were placed in the church foyer for all members to enjoy during a Blessing Breakfast. What began as a simple evening of bagels and Bible study became an opportunity to share fellowship, encouragement, and God’s blessings with the wider church family.
