A community health fair hosted by the Amarillo Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church has opened doors for ongoing ministry, with 45 families registering for Bible studies and others connecting with church programs and community services.

The church recently organized the event with a simple but meaningful purpose: to bless the Amarillo community by meeting practical needs, promoting healthy living, and building lasting relationships. While members hoped to make a positive impact, God blessed their efforts in ways that exceeded their expectations.

Throughout the fair, visitors had access to booths addressing various aspects of physical, educational, and spiritual well-being. One booth offered healthy juices, encouraging visitors to make healthier lifestyle choices. Another distributed backpacks and school supplies to help families prepare for the academic year. A third provided Christian literature and information about the church and its ministries.

Health services were also an important part of the event. Medical professionals from the congregation volunteered to provide blood pressure and blood glucose screenings, along with vision tests. A local clinic also partnered with the church, expanding the resources available to attendees. At a registration booth, visitors could express interest in attending church, participating in Bible studies, or learning more about the Adventist faith.

One of the most encouraging outcomes was the response from families interested in learning more about God and His Word. A total of 45 families signed up for Bible studies, providing the congregation with an opportunity to share the hope of the Gospel with households throughout the community.

The impact extended beyond Bible studies. Several parents expressed interest in having their children join the Adventurer club, while other attendees showed interest in Women’s Ministries activities. Additionally, some families who attended the health fair have been added to the church’s monthly food assistance program. This ongoing support reflects the congregation’s commitment to serving its neighbors beyond a single event.

To continue building relationships with these families, the church has organized a follow-up effort through its Sabbath School classes. Community families have been assigned to individual classes, with each Sabbath School teacher working alongside a designated elder to guide members in reaching out to those entrusted to their care.
