In anticipation of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, AdventHealth Central Texas is hosting its annual SHINE The Light Breast Cancer Awareness Glow Walk on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the AdventHealth Central Texas Sue Mayborn Women’s Center parking lot at 2201 S. Clear Creek Road in Killeen, Tex. 76549, behind the hospital.
Funds raised will go directly toward providing free or reduced-cost mammograms for those in need within the community. Participants will be able to explore the wide range of services AdventHealth offers and gain valuable insights into breast cancer prevention and early detection.
During the event, survivors will share their uplifting stories, and light refreshments will be provided. A lighting ceremony will mark the beginning of the hospital being illuminated in pink throughout October. The event will also feature live music, a petting zoo, pink snacks and refreshments, and a fireworks display.
